Alan Horwitz
Alan Horwitz from Stony Creek Connecticut collaborated with Richard on the Father Time installation. He created the figure representing Father Time at the top of the spiral staircase.
Alan is a natural found objects artist and has long been a collector of objects found in nature. With the personal belief that no person can come close to creating anything as awe inspiring as those things found in nature: a rock with lines imbedded from geologic shifts in weather, a feather designed for the flight pattern of its true owner, a piece of wood arriving back on land- re-designed by its journey at sea. As he is inspired by these offerings of the earth, he in turn aspires to honor the “true nature” of these objects and to pass along this experience to his viewers. The hope is to inspire a reverence and appreciation for our natural habitat, as well to call people to protect it. Although new to the public art world, his first show at the local library was met with much enthusiasm, reflected by coverage in the arts section of the New Haven Register.
